THE GUY COLSOUL GROUP A STARION
HISTORY;
Originally built by MITSUBISHI RALLIART BELGIUM for Guy Colsoul in 1987, competed in several international rallies. Imported to the U.K. IN October 1989 by BLAZE-MOTORSPORT now known as RALLIART U.K, Rebuilt and entered the LOMBARD R.A.C. Rally 1989 with Steve Bannister driving. Sold to Peter Littler Motorsport in 1990. Entered ( & won) many British rallies until sold to Mr Alisdar Ingram (Scotland) IN 1995. Alisdar used the STARION on the 1996 & 1997 TOUR OF MULL RALLIES. Later sold to Mark Stacey (MITSUBISHI STARION OWNERS CLUB U.K.) in 1998 Mark has stripped & repainted the car with the help of his co-driver Mr Graham Fox. Now in original factory colours, White, Red, Silver & Black. Used on many Track days @ SILVERSTONE, CADWELL PARK, OULTON PARK ect & now having an engine rebuild ready for the 2001 Rally season.
BODYSHELL:
Multipoint steel cage & alloy strut brace, foam filled wheel arches, seam welded, roof vents, fiberglass bonnet, polycarbonate rear screen, front & rear bumpers stripped down to casing, lightened doors, tunnel altered to accept getrag gearbox, 60 liter aircraft spec "bag" fuel cell, carbon fiber dashboard, (inc rev counter, boost, oil, water, & volt gauges) NO SPEEDO. carbon fiber floor pans, lightweight bucket seats, multi-point harness.
ENGINE;
H.K.S. group A full works engine, 34mm FIA restrictor, 150a alternator, competition distributor, Group A Mitsubishi turbo, H.K.S. manifold , oil cooler, Group A intercooler - 210bhp @ the WHEELS !
GEARBOX;
Group A getrag direct top box 5 speed & A.P. paddle clutch.( gearbox is a one-off special made by RALLIART U.K. - 4.4 Limited Slip Diferential , Group A shafts - all on solid mounts.
BRAKES;
Dash adjustable A.P. bias box, A.P. 4 pot calipers & bells with vented & cross drilled disks (front) & vented & grooved disks (rear). All fully aeroquipped. Fly-off hydraulic / mechanical handbrake.
SUSPENSION;
Adjustable platform Bilstein's front & rear, 330lb front springs, 300lb rear springs. Adjustable drag struts, Fully Rose jointed.
WHEELS;
RALLIART dymag magnesium alloy five spoke 8 x 15" & 7x 15",
